What is a cab file?

CAB stands for cabinet file format and is utilised by Microsoft for it's Windows operating system. The files are used for packaging software installation files for easy distribution.

How to open cab file?

  1. Under "Select cab file to open", click on browse (or your browser equivalent)
  2. Select the cab file you wish to extract.
  3. Click "Extract". It will list the content of the cab file.
  4. Click "Save" on the individual files to save file to your local drive.

What operating system and browser do you support?

The cab version of ezyZip uses modern browser features, so ensure you're using the latest and greatest (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge or one of their variants). This ain't your grandpa's cab extractor!

We have tested it to work with Windows, MacOS, Linux (e.g. Ubuntu, Mint, Debian), Android, ChromeOS (Chromebook), iOS (iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch).

What is ezyZip?

ezyZip is a free online tool for packing and unpacking archive files. It supports zip, 7zip (7z), rar, iso, tar, tar.xz, tar.bz2, tar.gz, tgz, jar, ear, war, deb, zi.

Unlike other zip and unzip online utilities, ezyZip DOES NOT have file size restrictions or require you to upload / download files to a server. It runs locally as a browser app, thus making it much quicker than other similar zip and unzip online tools. This also ensures your privacy will be protected as no file data will leave your browser.
