- To select the RAR files to merge, you have two options:
- Click "Select RAR files to merge" to open the file chooser and select multiple files
- Drag and drop RAR files directly onto ezyZip
Click "Select RAR files to merge" to open the file chooser and select multiple files
- (Optional) Set the desired compression level by clicking the down arrow next to "Merge".
- Click "Merge". ezyZip will extract all files from your selected archives and combine them into a single archive. If any file is password-protected, you will be prompted to enter the password.
- Once complete, click "Save Merged ZIP File" to download the combined archive to your device.
- Click on the Dropbox logo () in the RAR file selector button.
- The Dropbox file chooser will appear. You will need to authorise access to ezyZip the first time.
- Once you have selected the RAR file, it will download it to your browser and initiate the conversion.
- To save the converted ZIP file to Dropbox, click on "Dropbox" dropdown under the "Save ZIP File" button. This will require authorisation the first time you run it.
The file will be stored in /Apps/ezyZip folder.

Why client-side RAR archive merging is faster without uploads
ezyZip merges multiple archives entirely within your browser using format-specific WebAssembly decoders. Here is why local merging outperforms server-based tools:
- Parallel Source ExtractionWeb Workers handle parallel extraction of source archives, with each archive decoded by its format-specific WASM engine simultaneously. Archives in different formats — such as merging a ZIP and a 7z into a single TAR — are decoded by their respective specialized engines in parallel.
- Efficient StagingExtracted contents are staged through Origin Private File System or streamed via the File System Access API before re-compression into the target format. This two-stage approach ensures that even when merging many large archives, memory usage remains bounded.
- No Multi-Upload OverheadServer-based merging requires uploading every source archive individually, processing in a queue, and downloading the result — total time is dominated by network transfer. Merging five 500 MB archives locally takes a fraction of the time that uploading 2.5 GB would require.
- Conflict ResolutionWhen source archives contain files with identical names, the merge engine handles collisions gracefully, preserving directory structures and letting you control which version takes precedence.
